Description

Every citizen is supposed to declare his own habitual residency with the registration at the Municipal register office within twenty days from the new settlement.

The declaration of residency must be integrated with the presentation of all documents stating the regular stay within the Italian territory. 

If you do not declare your residency, you may incur an administrative fine between € 100 and € 500. (Law number 213/2023).

Whoever occupies a property without a title cannot apply for residence or connection to public services in relation to that property and acts issued in violation of this prohibition are null and void for all legal purposes. (Law 80/2014)

At the same time as you make your residency declaration, you are invited to present your request for the waste charges (TARI - Tassa sui rifiuti).

How to do?

The application must be made by the concerned party by completing the ministerial model, downloadable here.

In the case, the concerned intends to present the application to the Sportello Polifunzionale in the city hall, he must fix an appointment directly on the Municipality Website Agenda Online (Prenota un appuntamento)

Sportello Polifunzionale is open without appointment on Wednesday (8,30-12,00 / 14,00-16,00) and on Friday (8,30-12,00)

In the case, the applicant doesn’t move in in order to establish a new household, but to be part of an already established family, the presence of one of the established family member of age or a signed declaration of consent with an attached identity card is appropriate.

If you are already registered as resident in one of the Italian Municipalities you can also apply for a new residency through the Portale dell’Anagrafe Nazionale della Popolazione Residente (ANPR) on the website www.anagrafenazionale.interno.it.

You should apply as soon as you get the residency permit** and in any case within twenty days after the establishment of an actual habitual residence in Bollate.

The application for residency  will take place within two working days from the date of submission of the application.
Please note that the registry office, within 45 days of the start of the procedure, will in any case order checks to verify the requirement of habitual residence at the new declared address. Any negative result will be communicated to the person concerned as foreseen in art. 10 bis of L.241/1990 (rejection notice); however, in case of verified conformity between the declaration made and the de facto situation, the institute of silence and asset operates within 45 days.

** When the concerned can apply even without a residency permit:
a) adoption or fostering of minors (document authorising entry and residence).
b) pending renewal of the residency permit (copy of the receipt of the renewal application and copy of the expired permit)
c) recognition of citizenship “jure sanguinis” (declaration of entry -Schengen stamp- or declaration made to the Police Headquarters) after approval of the documentation relating to citizenship by the Civil Status Office
d) pending the delivery of the permit if requested for subordinate work (residency permit delivered by the Sportello Unico for immigration, receipt of the Kit Poste Italiane for the application for residency, application for a residence permit for subordinate work
e) pending the delivery of the permit if requested for family reunification (entry visa per family reunification in the Passport, reunification authorisation delivered by the Sportello Unico for immigration, receipt of the Kit Poste Italiane for the application for residency). If the reunification concerns also minor, submit a photocopy of Mod. 209 – application for the delivery of a residency permit for the purpose of reunification.
f) family member of a European Union citizen residing in Bollate (receipt of the Kit Poste Italiane for the application for the residency card for family members of EU citizens).
